Re-Opening Protocol: Health and Safety Plan
Effective September 30, 2020 religious institutions are permitted to return to indoor worship services in accordance with the Healthy and Safety guidelines – Protocols of the City of San Francisco.
Under the current directives indoor worshiping assemblies are limited to 25% occupancy or 100 persons whichever is less.
The following health and safety plan provides guideline for safely reopening West Portal Lutheran Church for public worship beginning on Sunday, October 25, 2020.
The current plan will be to return to public worship with one 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning service.
The 25% of occupancy mandate means that we may have approximately 75 people in our worship service.
At this time the Pastoral Staff and Church Council will determine the feasibility of adding other worship times in the future.
The Health and Safety guidelines and protocols have been reviewed and approved by the WPL Church Council, distributed to church members, and are available on the church website.
In the event a worshiping member or visitor of West Portal Lutheran has contracted COVID-19 we will follow the local health department guidelines for disclosure of the information and immediately take further action as mandated by City, County and State authorities.
We are grateful to God that we are able to return to worship and celebrate the gifts of God through His Word and Sacraments. Please pray as we transition back to in person worship that is both respectful of the Divine nature of worship while also exercising sensitivity and care for the health and safety of all who enter West Portal Lutheran Church and School.
The following outline addresses the specific guidelines and safety protocols currently in place for the re-opening of West Portal Lutheran Church for public worship.
